What is a “Therapeutic Exercise”?

This is the best treatment tool we have at our practice. A variety of movements are used to help with therapeutic exercise. Our goal is to gradually load injured tissues in order to restore our patients to pain-free and fully functioning.

The care provider will assess the patient and determine the best treatment plan. This may include an exercise program. Exercises can be adjusted to suit each patient’s stage of healing depending on their tissue irritability. Your doctor will carefully monitor the progress of your program and ensure that it is appropriate to allow tissues to adapt and thrive. Our ultimate goal is for our patients to be able to perform the tasks or movements they desire by their discharge.

What does Balanced do Differently?

To closely replicate the functional movements our patients desire, therapeutic exercises should be done. Our clinic does not have any large machines that can help stabilize your body during movement. Our clinic uses free weights and other equipment to allow your body to move freely. Proper adaptation to a movement is essential for healing and preventing future injuries. Our clinic has a large open gym that allows patients to move freely and achieve their goals. You can see our clinic space here

Strengthening exercises: Helps to improve strength, with a focus on achieving the patient’s goals. We want you to be stronger hand exercise tool than before you were injured. Strength can also be used to prevent injury by providing active stability around joints.

Endurance exercises are used to increase endurance in specific muscle groups. This is especially important for endurance athletes and patients with low back pain. Endurance allows the muscle to build up tolerance to contractions continuously.
